VBS 2026: Five Days of Faith, Laughter and Joy

VBS 2026: What a Week!

Five evenings. 96 children and youth. 42 volunteers. Countless smiles—and memories we will treasure for a long time.

From August 3–7, St. Francis de Sales Parish came alive for Vacation Bible School 2026. Each evening brought music, games, crafts, great food, laughter and, most importantly, an opportunity for our children to grow in their Catholic faith.

Children ages 5–13 learned about St. Joseph of Cupertino, while our youth ages 14–17 participated in our first-ever Teen VBS, exploring the four major prophets of the Old Testament. Throughout the week, participants also learned more about the Sacraments, the Mass and Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

And they certainly had fun doing it!

There were nachos, quesadillas, mac and cheese, seemingly endless sandwiches and juice boxes—and plenty of happy faces along the way.

A Beautiful Friday Finale

The week ended in a particularly moving way on Friday, August 7, as our children, youth and volunteers gathered in church for Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

After a week filled with activity and excitement, watching our young people prayerfully participate in Benediction was a beautiful reminder that they are not simply the future of our Church—they are an important part of our Church today.

And, naturally, there was ice cream afterward to put the perfect finishing touch on a wonderful week!

VBS 2026 would not have been possible without our remarkable 42 volunteers and the generosity of our parish community.

Our heartfelt thanks go to our station leaders, children's guides, Teen VBS leaders, kitchen and cleaning crews, and everyone who donated food, drinks, supplies or financial support. To our parents, thank you for entrusting your children to us and for continuing their formation in faith at home.

And finally, to our 96 wonderful children and youth:

Thank you for filling our parish with your laughter, questions, enthusiasm and faith.

The stations are quiet now. The games have ended. The last ice cream has been served.

And somehow, it all ended far too quickly.

We miss you already—but we hope you left knowing Jesus a little better and knowing that your parish will always have a place for you.
